Call of Duty World at War Boxart Leaked; No Longer #5

by June 15th 2008 7:32 PM CDT5 Comments

The boys at Xbox 360 Fanboy got their hands on some "leaked" images of the upcoming installment of the Call of Duty series, Call of Duty: World at War. As with Call of Duty 4, there apparently will be several possible boxarts before the official one is chosen.

There are a few weird things going on here, such as the absense of a "5" anywhere on the art. The blue one of the bunch looks to have a soldier carrying his brother in arms on his shoulder, which we experienced in Call of Duty 4 when we had to rescue that downed Cobra pilot and carry Leftenant Price around Prepyat, Ukraine. A similar image appears on the right-hand box on the bottom row, showing a soldier helping his comrad get to safety.

More of this kind of stuff wouldn't hurt. Who knows, maybe we'll even see some of it in the multiplayer?

Extra information and analysis after the jump.

Okay so the first concept looks a bit odd. No man should be spreading his legs that wide on something millions of people will see. Ever. The second looks too bland. There needs to be other colors besides blue. The third is just plain depressing, and will definitely turn off the crowd looking to get their kids a present for their Birthdays or for Christmachanukwanzika.

The fifth one looks excellent and really captures the feeling of combat well. the fourth one, however, has the badass stance just cool enough to sell millions of copies.

So if these leaks are real, we're most likely looking at the fourth or fifth  covers to used. Though, I could be wrong. Which covers do you think are most likely to get used? Post your comments below.
