Rock Band 2: oh no really?

You know it’s a slow news weekend when on Monday the top story is an over-the-top announcement of a game we’ve seen a long time coming. Get out the party hats because Rock Band 2 is on its way. The most surprising part about this is that the release date has been focused to sometime in September.

If you’re looking for a new and totally revolutionary experience then I’d suggest you quit reading. The developers took a “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” approach for this one. The only big changes are some yet unknown party functionality improvements.

For those of us who don’t want to drop another arm into the register can rest easy as all the instruments and DLC from the first Rock Band are transferable. Nevertheless, Harmonix has made some tweaks to the instruments and will offer some upgraded versions that may deserve a second look.  As far as the actual music goes, the first game’s playlist was nothing short of awesome and will do no worse in the second round.
